Maria Callas 100 years

Last year marked the 100th anniversary of Maria Callas’ birth, and many people celebrated this milestone. Despite not being a huge opera fan, I was pleasantly surprised when I received an invitation to a celebration. I didn’t have high expectations, but it turned out to be fantastic. Francis van Broekhuizen, who is not only an opera singer but also an excellent entertainer and storyteller, made it great. While opera may not be my favorite, I became a fan of Francis.

This drawing, created with water-soluble graphite, is a memory of the evening. It might not be the most accurate depiction of her, but you can see real photos of her on her website.
