Sepia

This surrealistic painting serves as an exercise in using sepia as the base color, with added touches of color for different elements. The intention is to evoke the feel of an old photograph. The canvas measures 40 by 70 cm and is mounted on an aluminum frame. Beyond being an experiment, it also expresses a sense of loss. The figure is deliberately ambiguous, though the lost image is of a girl.

The work has been shown at an exposition in a Dutch hospital.
