Pear tree in the spring

There is a small pear tree in our small village garden and last year I started to sketch and paint it. It is nice to see how it wakes up in the spring and how the pears grow over time. This is a painting on a canvas board made in March 2022. I started painting outside in the garden but found it easier to finish it at home.

The background is fuzzy like in a portrait but after a while I thought it would have been better to include some background of the garden. It gives more depth to the painting. I could have done that afterwards. It is an oil painting so painting over the greenish background certainly was a possibility but I thought it was better just to move on.
