I made this sketch after watching a short film ‘Nest’ by Hlynur Palmason. It tells a story of building and enjoying a tree house by two boys and their sister (at least that is what it seems). The picture is made on 35mm colour film. It gives us an impression of a short family film. The movie covers a period of 18 Islandic months with all the seasonal weather changes. I don’t know what attracted me the most, the nature, the simplicity of the story, the way it was filmed or perhaps the energy of the kids to play, build and enjoy whatever there is. There is some kind of sweetness within the film. Rough nature in the background and innocent children playing in the foreground.
