The Mallow Coloured Garden (Book: Branko Ćopić)

I chose to read “The Mallow Coloured Garden” as a farewell gesture to the children’s books that once captivated me, and which I now plan to donate to a local school. I was a child when I first read this book, and I still love it. The author, Branko Ćopić, could be found on the […]

The Illusionist (movie 2010)

I really enjoyed  “The Illusionist” movie because of its awesome animation. The story might not be super inspiring, but the visuals are amazing. The atmosphere in the movie is great, and you can just enjoy the images without needing explanations. I tried to capture that feeling by sketching a scene from the movie with watercolours. […]

Maria Callas 100 years

Last year marked the 100th anniversary of Maria Callas’ birth, and many people celebrated this milestone. Despite not being a huge opera fan, I was pleasantly surprised when I received an invitation to a celebration. I didn’t have high expectations, but it turned out to be fantastic. Ferrassieres

This sketch depicts the distant hotel in Ferrassières. I encounter this scenery each time I return from a stroll with my dog. It accurately reflects our location and provides information about the altitude as well.

Hercules at the Royal Academy in London

The colossal statue  at the Royal Academy is truly remarkable and impossible to overlook. A closer look reveals that the man is depicted with a lion skin and head held beneath his arm. So it must be Hercules after he  completed one of his twelve legendary tasks. Interestingly, the statue is a specially crafted cast […]

Memories of KRK

When revisiting a place from my youth, I anticipated that my cherished old memories will collide with new experiences. Everything should have undergone a transformation after two decades.  In my case, the change should be even more pronounced since I was merely a high school boy during my vacations in Crikvenica, which was once part […]
