Painting, Sketching & Enjoying Arts

Archie my travel companion

I used to travel a lot with Archie in my car. Even on long trips, he never complained—though after six hours of driving, he always wanted a break every two hours. I thought that was very reasonable, and honestly, I probably needed the breaks too.

When the car got warm, the air-conditioning didn’t quite reach him, so I’d open the window a bit. Right away, he’d stick his nose out into the breeze.

Sadly, those moments are now just memories. My beloved Archibald passed away a year ago. This is the last sketch I made of him, based on a photo I took while driving. It’s not the perfect shot—the composition isn’t great—but it captured a real moment, and it’s a memory I’ll always cherish.
